Mi a fotó? Azt mondják kommunikáció, rendszer, olyan, mint a nyelv, csak szavak helyett képelemek, mondatok helyett kompozíciók, szöveg helyett képpárok. Ezt mondják a gombrichok.
De ha kommunikáció akkor valamit üzen, reflektál valamire, vagy valakire. Interpretál: újraértelmezi a teret és időt, allegória is,ami definíció szerint "egy narratív fikció folyamatos utalásai egy másik gondolatmenetre, vagy eseménysorra. Az allegória olyan megjelenítés, amely mintegy önmagát értelemezi" És ezekkel el is jutottunk a Gombrich-féle képelemzéstől az antropológia retorikai fordulatának nagyágyúihoz, a cliffordokhoz: Clifford Geertz és James Clifford őméltóságához.
Hogy mik ezek a fotók? Ezek én vagyok. Tér-idő-interpretációim, ön-allegóriáim.
